Okay... so this is really bothering me... Lucky Catfish supposedly helps you find more money. So I was feeding it to my whole party and barely making my money back. Then I went through a dungeon without eating Lucky Catfish and I got tons of money. What's up with that? Makes me think the game is lying and discourages me from using Amber's restaurant.
I finally found the secret dungeon shop, which was fun. And I also learned a super important lesson. As long as my dungeon map is valid, I can build a fort on lower levels than where I currently am. So, for example, I was on level B5. The D.O.E. was on level B8. I was able to build a fort on level B7 to stop him. Awesome! That makes this game a lot easier... |
Just to reiterate. Now that I've stopped buying Lucky Catfish, I'm rolling in money again. I built 3 forts on my way through the fourth dungeon (Haunted Woods) and still wound up with 11,000 by the time I finished and saved.
So far I've run into D.O.E.s 3 times since I started playing. Once during tonight's play. The first encounter was a deer looking D.O.E. I discovered its weakness was poison. So I sought the D.O.E. out with a Hexer and instead I got this robot thing with mace arms that wrecked me. Tonight my party got split up by a panic shroom and my runecaster (Mira) decided to attack the D.O.E. on her own. I saved her by finding the stairs down.
The dungeon boss was cake. I unlocked the Animal Trail and some new quests. The game is asking me to complete some quests before they'll give me my next mission and Dungeon Five. All my town buildings are upgraded to 3 star, but they won't let me upgrade any further for now.
Before I wrap this up I wanna say that I enjoy the towns people in this game.
